Visiting Postdoctoral Fellowships
At the proposal of the interdisciplinar International Collaboration Committee, Visiting Postdoctoral Fellowships are now available to foreign postdoctoral scientists for a continuous period of three to twelve months, in order to bring in external expertise to support FWO-projects and Scientific Research Networks (WOG) and to form a link between Flemish and foreign research groups. Responsible spokesman of FWO-projects and Scientific Research Networks (WOG) may apply for these fellowships for foreign researchers.
A Junior postdoctoral fellowship is awarded to young Ph.D.s having obtained a doctorate no more than 5 years ago and who wish to acquire further experience and can contribute expertise. The monthly net payment is equal to the statutory minimum amount corresponding to the salary of a university research assistant.
If the Ph.D. was obtained more than 5 years ago, but no more than 10 years ago, a Senior postdoctoral fellowship may be awarded to more mature experts who are already established in their respective field. The payment is € 2,100 per month (amount on 1/1/2007).
Applications must be submitted no later than 3 months and no earlier than 6 months before the start of the stay.
