BiR&D Multidisciplinary PhD Thesis Award 2014
On May 12, 2014 BiR&D – the Belgian Association of international industrial companies with major operations and R&D activity in Belgium – and FWO / F.R.S.-FNRS have awarded the first Multidisciplinary PhD Thesis Award to Dr. Daan Witters and the MeBioS-Biosensor group at KU Leuven.
With this award BiR&D wants to support a PhD researcher who delivered an original and multidisciplinary PhD thesis that pays attention to the industrial valorization potential of the research. The reward for the 2014 award is 20.000 euro of which 10.000 euro will be granted to the PhD researcher and 10.000 euro will be granted to the research unit the researcher was affiliated to. FWO and F.R.S.-FNRS collaborate with BiR&D in organizing this annual PhD Thesis Award.
