New supercomputer BrENIAC presented
On 17 October the new supercomputer BrENIAC was presented in Leuven. This computer entered the TOP 500 at position 196 in the world ranking of supercomputers with 548 Tflops reported.
This second Flemish Tier-1 is a new milestone in the VSC history and shows the commitment of the Flemish government to invest in state of the art infrastructure for research and innovation. It continues to support scientists in their quest for new knowledge.
The Flemish Supercomputer Centre (VSC) is a virtual centre making supercomputer infrastructure available for both the academic and industrial world. This centre is managed by the Research Foundation - Flanders (FWO) in partnership with the five Flemish university associations.
