Dr Thielemans is clearly an excellent researcher, with a wide international experience. After a MSc in KUL, he move to University of Delaware (USA) for PhD, then worked 2 years at Grenoble INP, and is currently working at university of Nottingham in UK. For each of these positions he got very successful scientific results, with an impressive list of publication and conference presentations. He developed a strong and broad network of collaborators, showing that his scientific community appreciates his scientific qualities. He is also a very hard worker, involved in many branches” of his main scientific interest, as seen on the list of publications.
At Nottingham he is currently supervising 4 PhD students and one post-doc, and co-supervising 6 PhD and one post-doc, i.e. a total of 12 young researchers.
Dr. Thielemans is to the jury’s point of view within the top 10% of young researchers.
There is no weakness in his file.
