Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic is experimenting with commercial space flights and starting from this year the Dutch Space Expedition Corporation (SXC) intends to offer people a short space trip for $100,000. Are initiatives like this from private companies profitable? And shouldn't we better send people or even better space robots like Curiosity to explore the moon, Mars and asteroids?
