Scientific Award Puratos

On the initiative of Puratos, the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO) will grant in 2024 the Scientific Award Puratos, amounting to 5.000 €, for an outstanding PhD thesis that presents original contribution in food science, food technology, industrial food biotechnology (fermentation, industrial microbiology, biocatalysis, expression of enzymes and functional molecules and related up- and downstream processes etc.) and their applications related to ingredients, processing, product development and/or sustainability. 

• Prize amounts to € 5 000
• In recognition of an outstanding PhD thesis in food science, food technology, industrial food biotechnology (fermentation, industrial microbiology, biocatalysis, expression of enzymes and functional molecules and related up- and downstream processes etc.) and their applications related to ingredients, processing, product development and/or sustainability

• The Prize is intended for an individual researcher who has publicly defended his/her PhD thesis from a Belgian university or from the Royal Military Academy of Belgium between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023.
• Candidates must be affiliated to a recognised university or research institute on the submission deadline.
• Candidates cannot be employed by Puratos or its subsidiaries.

• Submit your application using the application form, filled in correctly and completely in English by June 10, 2024 (midnight CEST) at the latest to prijzen@fwo.be.
• Your application will be evaluated by a scientific jury of experts appointed by FWO.
• The scientific jury selects the winner.
