Scientific Prize McKinsey & Company

McKinsey & Company places great value on the promotion of scientific research. With the support of McKinsey & Company, the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO) and the Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique FNRS (F.R.S.-FNRS) are able to annually award two scientific prizes recognizing outstanding PhD research in exact sciences, applied sciences, social, economics and management, or biomedical sciences. One scientific prize is awarded to a young researcher from the Flemish Community, and the other to a young researcher from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles. Eligible researchers must demonstrate the social and/or economic relevance or a concrete implementation of their PhD.

• Two prizes – one for the Flemish Community and one for the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles – each amounting to €5,000.
• In recognition of original PhD research with practical implementation or social and/or economic relevance.

• You must have defended your PhD between 1 January 2025 and 31 December 2025.
• You are affiliated with a Flemish university or a research institute on the submission deadline on 16 February 2026.

• Submit your application using the official form to prijzen@fwo.be no later than 16 February 2026 (midnight CEST).
• Attach your CV and an electronic copy of your PhD.
• Applications will be reviewed by a jury of experts, who will select the winner of each prize.
