The FWO attaches great importance to the public acceptance of science. One way to achieve this is through science communication. That is why we encourage our researchers to systematically communicate about their research to the general public. To this end, the FWO has several online and physical channels.

The Kennismakers.be website is a central part of this. Here we offer a space for exploring specific themes in depth through videos, podcasts and written testimonials.

FWO also uses a fortnightly newsletter, which highlights FWO research that in the past period has been in the media. Here, too, the emphasis is on the multitude of research and disciplines increasingly picked up by the wider press in Flanders.

Our Instagram account @fwovlaanderen also zooms in on our researchers. Researchers can take over our account for one week, allowing them to share photos and videos with the general public.
