Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Award

Thanks to the generous patronage of a private donator, the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO) and Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique (F.R.S.-FNRS) will grant an Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Award in 2025.

• Prize amounting to € 30 000.
• To reward an established researcher of at least postdoctoral level for an original fundamental or translational contribution in the field of endocrinology, diabetes, metabolism or nutrition.
• The prize will be awarded in recognition of his/her previously accomplished work, taking into account any future prospects the work may bring to this field.

• You have a PhD.
• You obtained your first doctoral degree at least 6 years and a maximum of 16 years before the date of the submission deadline (possibly extended in case of admissible career breaks, see regulations).
• The Award can only be given to a researcher of at least postdoctoral level and affiliated to a Belgian university or university hospital. You have carried out research activities in Belgium within a (bio)medical context for at least 5 years in total, including 3 years immediately prior to the submission deadline for this application.
• You have not received an Award of an amount equal to or higher than 20.000 euros for the submitted work in the past 3 years (before the deadline of the call).
• Previous laureates of the Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Award are not eligible.

• Submit your candidacy using the appropriate form, filled in correctly and completely (in English), on 03 March 2025 at the latest.
• Your candidacy is submitted to a jury.
• The jury selects the laureate for the prize.
